Happy January!!
Let's start the new year with grumpy cat. I don't know what it is, but I have a special spot in my heart for grumpy cat...anyway...
Well, how's your January going? Enjoying 2013 so far?
I don't have much for today's post, I'm actually kinda sick right now. But I'm in deep denial, as usual. So it's going to be a little short!
We still haven't finished figuring everything out, but we do know that we won't be going to school this semester. We might try taking some online classes or just deffer for the moment. We haven't found anywhere to live and considering that a roof over our heads is somewhat important, we probably won't be moving up there. We can find plenty of single housing apartments, but no married housing. Apparently at BYU-Idaho, it's get married and get out! (Ok, I don't really think that but the thought HAS crossed my mind!)
So we are trying to figure out what we WILL be doing this semester!
Anyway! So the people we are staying with have a dog. She is a beautiful golden retriever and they've been trying to sell us on getting one! Apparently, we could train one to be a working dog (you've probably seen one at least once or twice in your life! They wear the vests and usually you see them with blind people or people with seizure disorders) but, to be a working dog for me. We've discussed the fact that I have depression before, and I knew that I could potentially get a "therapy animal" like a cat, but I had no idea that I could actually get a dog and train it to be there for comfort or whatever else I might need (heavens knows how long this stomach thing will last). We wouldn't get a dog super soon since having our own place might be a bit of a prerequisite...but we ARE talking about it!
So, while we were driving down here we were talking about what kind of dog we would get. Larry wants something that drools...a lot...like a bull dog. So I've ruled out the bull dog but here are the two I would love:
A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! Adorable! And apparently a great family dog (depending on who you talk to, but I've always had great experiences with these sweet things!) But it's smaller than Larry would like so it's a no go on the spaniel!
Who wouldn't love a Collie? But...they have a lot of hair and I'm seeing the grey couches of my dreams drenched in dog hair...not so cute...
So, we're a little sold on a golden retriever. Who knows when that will actually happen, but it's a fair certainty, there is a dog somewhere in our future:
A friend of Caitlyn and Brian's...well and now Larry's, had to go out of town and so we have had his dog here with us! She's a pit bull mix...with something else, but she's mostly pit bull. She's sweet, other than assuming that anything comfy or cooshy is hers. We had her in the room with us for a night and, we didn't do it the next! I woke up to see this:
You can't tell from the picture, but she's taking over half the bed. So Larry and I were smashed on the other half. She tends to take up a lot of room!
For our first New Years Eve together, we went to dinner with friends and then just kept it low key. Kissed at midnight, you know the drill. It's so crazy how much can change in just a year! It was so wonderful to spend New Years with someone I love so much! Anyway, I hope you all had a fabulous New Year's Eve and that January is starting your 2013 out right!
Less Than Three,
Sarah
This is me a year ago on New Years Eve...yes I'm aware I look like a Muppet...
And here's Larry and me before we went to dinner.
We have fun.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Glad you had a great New Year! Dogs....Auntie Jude could tell you about Golden's, she and Gordon love them! I'd vote for something with poodle in it - they don't shed. ;o) I had a poodle growing up, she was darling! She LOVED to have her hair done! There is a new breed out that is a Golden and Poodle mix that I've heard is wonderful! It would be large for Larry, but incredibly loving for you. ;o) LOve you lots!!!
